Ever since the Six Dynasties, the ten sq. li of Qinhuai had been a place
where merchants used to gather, trade thrive, and culture and arts thrive.
Down to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, song and dance halls were everywhere,
and people listened to music and drank wine all night long. Truly a flourishing
age. But as times passed, great changes had taken place, and the prosperity
and grandiosity along the two banks of Qinhuai River had disappeared completely.
Now after years of development and reconstruction, the ten sq. li of Qinhuai
begins to regain its characteristics of the "Capital of the Six Dynasties".
Here, temples, markets and scenes are blended into one. It is now a tourism
area where you can view scenes, do shopping, enjoy snacks and have fun.
Take a pleasure-boat along the river, the oars splash, lamps cast their
shadows, and see how you feel.
