The so-called ten-thousand li Changjiang River, vast and mighty, traverses
the City from west to east and rolls all the way to the sea. The Changjiang
River at Nanjing runs parallel to Mufushan Hill. The side of the hill
that faces the River is very steep, forming a natural block. It is about
6 km. long and is a branch of Ningzhenshan Mountain-range. The hill has
five peaks, on the south is the highest peak Beigushan Hill, on the foot
of which there is a cave, deep, winding and quiet; on the middle is the
Middle Peak, on the top of which there are Fairy Terrace and Tiger Spring;
on the northwest there are two peaks facing each other, they together
called as Jialuo Peaks, also called as Jialu Peaks. The Mufushan Hill
on the River has long since been a famous tourism resort.
